Romania’s government survived a no-confidence vote tabled by the far-right opposition at a time of growing anti-establishment sentiment in the Black Sea country.

Lawmakers in Bucharest rejected a motion to oust the cabinet of Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu filed by the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians, or AUR, and two other nationalist parties which control a third of parliament, their largest share yet. Only 147 voted in favor of the motion, which fell short of the 233 needed, according to Senate Speaker Mircea Abrudean.
