President Donald Trump asked the US Supreme Court to block a judge’s order that requires the immediate disbursement of as much as $2 billion in USAID humanitarian-assistance projects around the world.
The emergency comes after US District Judge Amir Ali said this week that the administration had failed to comply with an earlier order to lift a freeze on foreign assistance through the US Agency for International Development.
