Haitian Gangs Declared Terrorist Groups by Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is designating more than a dozen Haitian gangs “terrorist organizations,” giving the Caribbean nation additional tools to stave off the chaos that’s plaguing its troubled neighbor.

In a speech Thursday to mark Dominican Independence Day, President Luis Abinader said that any gang members caught on the Dominican side of the border would face charges under anti-terrorism laws.
