Drax Delays UK Carbon Capture Investment on Uncertain Rules

Drax Group Plc called for more regulatory certainty before it steps up investment in carbon pollution controls at its biomass plant in northern England.

Earlier this month, the government announced a new subsidy deal to allow the generator to continue running the facility during the next few years with plans to fit carbon capture technology from the next decade. But the agreement limits returns that the government deemed “unacceptably large” in the past.
