Hungary expects the Donald Trump administration will “soon” lift US sanctions imposed against a powerful aide to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban over alleged corruption, according to a government minister in Budapest.

Antal Rogan, Orban’s chief of staff who oversees the security services, will probably be removed from the sanctions list by the end of June, Cabinet Minister Gergely Gulyas said in a podcast on 24.hu news website published on Wednesday. He didn’t elaborate.
