European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will seek assistance from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enforce sanctions on Russia when the two leaders meet this week in New Delhi.
Von der Leyen and other European Union officials will also discuss the issue of greater market access and India’s high tariffs on items such as cars and wine as a part of ongoing negotiations for a free trade agreement, an EU official told reporters in a virtual background briefing on Tuesday.
