The UK will suspend most financial aid to Rwanda over its support for rebels seizing territory in neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said.
It will also coordinate with partners on potential sanctions, the UK government said Tuesday in a statement in which it accused Rwanda’s soldiers and the M23’s of being involved in an “unacceptable violation of DRC’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a breach of the UN Charter.”
