Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said the United Arab Emirates will invest $40 billion in the country, after Rome hosted a visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

“Today is a very important day, another starting point in our bilateral relationship,” Meloni said in Rome following what was the first ever state visit of a UAE president to Italy. “It will transform apparently distant partners with potentially divergent interests into partners that choose to share a very important part of their journey together.”
