President Emmanuel Macron’s longstanding top adviser is preparing to join Societe Generale SA as head of retail banking, according to L’Opinion.

Alexis Kohler, who has been chief of staff at the Elysee Palace since 2017, is laying the groundwork to leave, the publication reported, without saying where it got the information. Public-affairs transparency watchdog HATVP, which vets and can block moves by top civil servants to the private sector, still has to approve the change, L’Opinion said.
