President Vladimir Putin named sovereign wealth fund chief Kirill Dmitriev as Russia’s envoy for international economic cooperation, days after the financier took part in talks with the US last week aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
In the new role, Dmitriev “will continue to develop investment and economic cooperation” with countries from the Global South and the West, including the US, the Russian Direct Investment Fund, known as RDIF, said in statement on Sunday.
