The Trump administration’s mass layoffs of health workers hit a key vaccine unit of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to people familiar with the matter.

Fourteen full-time workers were laid off from the CDC’s Immunization Services Division, where 150 to 200 employees oversee vaccine education and access programs. Five of the workers handled communications, the people said.
