StanChart Says 2025 Clean Energy Goal Is Hitting Hurdles

Standard Chartered Plc said it may not be able to purchase clean energy in all markets to meet its 2025 target of using only renewable electricity, citing a lack of options.

The bank pointed to “market constraints” as well as a “lack of renewable energy options in some markets within Africa and the Middle East” such as Bahrain, Botswana, Ghana, Iraq and Tanzania, in its annual report on Friday.
