Senator Elizabeth Warren assailed Donald Trump and adviser Elon Musk for shuttering the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, saying they were effectively sidelining the nation’s “financial cops.”

Warren, a progressive Massachusetts Democrat and longtime proponent of stronger consumer protections who advocated to establish the federal agency, argued Tuesday on Bloomberg Television’s Balance of Power with Kailey Leinz and Joe Mathieu that Trump and Musk were breaking the law to hobble the CFPB.
