Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. railed against China as he started campaigning for his Senate candidates, making the maritime dispute with Beijing a central issue in the high-stakes midterm election in May.
Speaking at a rally in his northern bailiwick of Ilocos on Tuesday, Marcos also took a swipe at his predecessor Rodrigo Duterte’s presidency, particularly his deadly drug war and pro-China foreign policy that distanced from long-time ally US.
