Norway’s Unexpected GDP Contraction Adds Easing Pressure

Norway’s economy surprised last quarter with the biggest contraction since the pandemic, strengthening the case for the country’s central bank to start its long-awaited easing campaign.
Mainland gross domestic product, which excludes Norway’s offshore energy industry, fell 0.4% from the previous three months, according to data from the statistics office on Tuesday.
