ECB Cuts Can’t Solve Europe’s Structural Issues, Schnabel Says

Reductions in borrowing costs by the European Central Bank can’t address the structural challenges facing the region’s economy, according to Executive Board member Isabel Schnabel.
Speaking at the German Institute for Employment Research, Schnabel said growth is currently only moderate, while uncertainty over trade has increased “dramatically,” with looser monetary policy offering limited assistance.
