President Donald Trump pardoned Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich for his corruption conviction, five years after commuting his prison sentence.

Blagojevich, who served as a Democrat, was removed from office in 2009 for attempting to solicit bribes to fill the US Senate seat Barack Obama vacated when he became president. Trump in Feb. 2020 cut short Blagojevich’s 14-year prison sentence.
