The US will continue to buy agricultural commodities to supply some of the world’s poorest countries as part of aid programs, the Department of Agriculture said on Friday.
Purchases of US crops such as corn, soybeans and wheat will carry on as part of the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education, the Childhood Nutrition Program and the Food for Progress Program, the USDA said. The statement came after Reuters reported the programs had been stopped under a Trump administration review of federal spending.
