JPMorgan Chase & Co. named Melissa Smith and Matt Sable co-heads of commercial banking, the latest in a series of management changes in the upper rungs of the biggest US bank.

The pair succeed John Simmons, who was elevated last month to run all of global banking alongside Filippo Gori, according to a statement Friday. They’ll take charge of a business that has more than 70,000 clients — a roster that includes startups, midsize firms, government entities and commercial real estate investors.
