Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic’s financing is oversubscribed and on track to be larger than expected, exceeding the $2 billion fundraising that was previously reported — with major firms including Menlo Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners and Abu Dhabi’s MGX in talks to participate, according to people familiar with the matter.
General Catalyst is also in discussions to join the round, said some of the people, all of whom asked not to be identified discussing private matters. They cautioned that the talks are still ongoing and the details could change.
