Emirates has built its future fleet around Boeing Co.’s 777X, with 205 units on order. But after numerous delays to the giant aircraft’s commercial debut, the airline has also become more cautious about its timeline.
The Dubai flag carrier now expects its 777X deliveries to be pushed back until at least the second quarter of 2027, according to people familiar with Emirates’ financial and operational planning. The date could even slip as far as 2028, said one of the people, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential deliberations.
