DOJ Fights to Keep $300 Million Russian Superyacht After Folding Seizure Unit
Since its seizure, Amadea has been docked in San Diego, where it costs US taxpayers almost $750,000 a month in maintenance and insurance.

The US has been fighting a claim that the 348-foot (106-meter) Amadea was wrongly seized as an asset of sanctioned billionaire Suleiman Kerimov. Another wealthy Russian, Eduard Khudainatov, contends that he’s the yacht’s true owner and wants it back. Justice Department lawyers on Friday urged a federal judge in New York to dismiss Khudainatov’s claim.
