US Unveils Fresh Iran Sanctions Under ‘Maximum Pressure’ Push

The US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on a financial network it said is linked to Iranian oil shipments to China, the first moves under the Trump administration’s to ratchet up restrictions on the Middle Eastern country.
The sanctions targeted Sepehr Energy, which the administration said is a front company for Iran’s Armed Forces General Staff, as well as vessels and management companies that transported oil. Other sanctioned entities are located in China, India and the United Arab Emirates.
