The suspended chief executive officer of South African coal producer Exxaro Resources Ltd. resigned over the handling of a probe into allegations over her conduct.

Nombasa Tsengwa submitted her resignation in a Feb. 5 letter seen by Bloomberg News. The company accepted her move and will start an expedited process to appoint a new CEO, Chairman Geoffrey Qhena said in a statementBloomberg Terminal Thursday, adding that Finance Director Riaan Koppeschaar will remain as acting chief.
