Bessent Says Looking Forward to Working Closely With BOJ’s Ueda

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is looking forward to working closely and productively with Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda, according to a Treasury readout after the two held a virtual introductory call.
The meeting came as Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba is set to travel to Washington for his first meeting as premier with President Donald Trump.
