Charlie Javice, who goes on trial later this month on charges she defrauded JPMorgan Chase & Co. into acquiring her startup, criticized the conviction of fellow founder Elizabeth Holmes as “ridiculous” in texts sent while she was working at the bank, casting blame on Theranos Inc. investors instead.
The January 2022 WhatsApp messages, which were disclosed last week in a government court filing, will not be seen by Javice’s jury. US District Judge Alvin Hellerstein ruled on Tuesday that they could potentially prejudice her defense. But the texts offer a window into Javice’s views on a high-profile fraud case that has often been compared to hers.
