The UK statistics agency is deploying artificial intelligence, QR codes and behavioral science as part of a raft of novel strategies to drive up responses to its crisis-hit labor market survey.
The Office for National Statistics is setting up a “research and innovation hub” to help modernise its data collection after estimates for unemployment, employment and economic inactivity were deemed unfit for purpose by policymakers, ONS officials told Bloomberg.
