Poland needs to rapidly overhaul its costly power system as the country risks losing a competitive edge in terms of luring new investors, according to billionaire Michal Solowow.
Elevated taxes, including carbon allowance permits, and aging power plants have propelled electricity bills for the country’s businesses to one of the highest in the world recently, the businessman said on Monday. Solowow, worth $2.5 billion according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, has a vast portfolio of investments from chemicals and energy to ceramic tiles in several European countries, including the Netherlands and France.
