Nashville-Based Discount Store Bargain Hunt Files for Bankruptcy

Discount retailer Essex Technology Group, which does business as Bargain Hunt, has filed for bankruptcy, marking deepening woes for stores that target budget-conscious shoppers.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Tennessee on Monday, court documents show. It listed assets of $10 million to 50 million and liabilities of between $50 million and 100 million in its petition.
