ECB’s Simkus Sees More Interest-Rate Cuts Beyond March

The European Central Bank is likely to lower borrowing costs beyond its next meeting, according to Governing Council member Gediminas Simkus.

The Lithuanian central-bank chief said Monday that he backs another quarter-point reduction, to 2.5%, when officials next convene to set interest rates in March. He also warned that US President Donald Trump’s recent spate of tariff action adds to already elevated uncertainty.
