North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un said confrontation with hostile nations is “inevitable” and called for a ramping up of the nation’s “nuclear shield,” just days after President Donald Trump indicated a willingness to reach out for renewed talks.
Kim described North Korea’s security environment as “the world’s most unstable situation in which a long-term confrontation with the most vicious hostile countries is inevitable,” according to the official Korean Central News Agency on Wednesday. Kim made the remarks during a visit to a factory and laboratory making weapons-grade nuclear materials, KCNA said.
