Egypt’s Sisi Rebuffs Trump Call to Displace Gaza Palestinians

Egypt cannot take part in the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said, after his US counterpart Donald Trump suggested the war-torn territory’s inhabitants could be moved to Egypt and Jordan.

“Displacing and deporting the Palestinian people from their place is an injustice in which we cannot participate,” the Egyptian leader said Wednesday, speaking alongside Kenyan President William Ruto in Cairo. Any such move would undermine national security both in Egypt and across the broader Arab world, he added.
