Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the UK economy is starting to turn around as he sought to reset his Labour government’s relationship with business after a torrid first six months in power.
“We have to get our economy working. I think we’re beginning to see how that’s turning around,” Starmer said in an interview with Bloomberg TV on Tuesday. “The number one priority of this Labour government is growth: growth, growth, growth.” The UK would “strip away regulation, strip away the inhibition of planning and use AI to take us forward,” he said.
