UK Probes Amazon, Microsoft’s Cloud Service Offerings

Amazon Inc. and Microsoft Corp.’s UK cloud service offerings are facing closer scrutiny in the UK as the watchdog said it had concerns over their market dominance.
The Competition and Markets Authority has provisionally found that competition in the sector isn’t working for consumers. Amazon Web Services and Microsoft control around 40% each of the UK market in cloud services and the agency recommended investigating the companies under tougher digital markets competition rules that have recently come into force.
