Storm Éowyn will bring a “weather bomb” to Ireland and the UK, unleashing destructive winds and heavy rain, the Met Office forecaster said.

People across the region were told to stay home Friday, with schools and universities in Ireland and Northern Ireland closing as severe weather warnings come into force. In the UK, major transport disruption is expected. All major train routes between Scotland and England have been canceled on Friday.
