Hungary said it will consult the United States before making a decision about renewing the European Union’s sanctions against Russia as a deadline looms at the end of the month.

“We will consult our American partners” before EU foreign ministers meet on Monday to discuss sanctions, Hungary’s chief diplomat Peter Szijjarto said at a press conference in Budapest, adding that the new US administration’s position “can not be disregarded.”
