North Korea’s state media reported on Donald Trump’s inauguration in its first direct acknowledgement of his return to the White House and adopted a neutral tone without referencing the president’s characterization of Pyongyang as a “nuclear power.”

North Korea’s main newspaper, the Rodong Sinmun, reported in a two-sentence dispatch Wednesday that Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the US, and that an inauguration ceremony was held in Washington the previous day. The report carried none of the inflammatory rhetoric often used to describe US presidents.
