Southern Water Ltd. chief executive apologized to UK lawmakers for the company’s poor environmental performance, adding that it has the full support of major shareholder Macquarie to turn its fortunes around.

“The level of impact of the incidents is inexcusable,” Lawrence Gosden said on Tuesday, replying to questions from Helena Dollimore, the Labour MP for Hastings and Rye, part of the company’s catchment area. “Our response to outages has not been good enough” but “we have shareholders on board to get the company back on track.”
