Telefónica SA’s board has named Marc Murtra executive chairman as part of a shakeup led by the carrier’s top investors.

Murtra, who is chairman of state-backed defense group Indra Sistemas SA, will replace Jose Maria Alvarez-Pallete, the chair since 2016, according to a filing from Telefonica Saturday. Pallete, who was also CEO, presented his resignation.
