The US Food and Drug Administration approved the marketing of 20 Zyn products to adults, the first time it has authorized nicotine pouches.

Zyn products, manufactured by Philip Morris International Inc., would lead to a lower risk of cancer than cigarettes and snus, which contains tobacco, the health watchdog said Thursday. Data showed nicotine pouches benefited adults who use cigarettes or smokeless tobacco products and switched to Zyn, it said.
