The UK’s aviation regulator has granted a launch license to Germany’s Rocket Factory Augsburg AG to blast rockets into space from Scotland, paving the way for the company’s first test flight.

The spaceflight operator license lasts for unlimited time and applies to a range of orbits and trajectories, RFA said on Thursday. The startup now has all three regulatory licenses needed to take off this year from SaxaVord Spaceport in the Shetland Islands.
