ECB’s Centeno Says Inflation in the Euro Area Is Under Control

Inflation in the euro area is under control, European Central Bank Governing Council member Mario Centeno said.
“Generically, inflation is controlled,” Centeno said in an interview with Portuguese TV channel RTP3 on Wednesday night. “If we look at the next months, quarters, year and a half, we see inflation clearly converging to values probably even slightly below 2%. The interest rate will continue on a trajectory ideally to values also close to 2%.”
