Poland to Speed Up Ukraine’s EU Accession Talks, Tusk Says

Poland will seek to accelerate talks on Ukraine’s membership in the European Union during its current six-month rotating presidency in the bloc, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Wednesday.

Kyiv secured EU candidacy status in 2022, in the months after Russia launched its full-scale invasion. EU negotiators are poised to open two areas of negotiations — on the rule of law and external relations — as the 27-member bloc grapples with a more turbulent security landscape in the coming years.
