Norway’s ruling Labor Party that’s lagged behind opposition Progress Party in recent months, drew closer to its opponent in the latest poll published by public broadcaster NRK, suggesting a tighter contest in the parliamentary vote due in September.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store’s Labor saw its backing rise 3.4 percentage points to 20.2% this month, while support for the anti-immigration Progress, led by former energy minister Sylvi Listhaug, dropped to 23.7%, according to the Norstat survey for NRK published Wednesday. The Conservative Party of former Prime Minister Erna Solberg, traditionally Labor’s biggest rival, dipped to 19.8%.
