Heading to the UK? US, Canada Among 40 Countries That Now Need Entry Permit

From Jan. 8, travelers from more than 40 countries have to pay £10 ($12.48) and complete a digital registration form in order to get into the UK.

Those countries include the US, Australia, Canada and other non-European states who do not need a visa but must now comply with Britain’s new entry requirement called the Electronic Travel Authorization, or ETA. It permits multiple journeys over two years or until the holder’s passport expires — whichever comes sooner.
