Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has authorized a delegation to travel to Qatar for discussions on a ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza, his office said Thursday, possibly the last effort to secure a deal before US President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

The delegation is made up of officials from Israel’s Mossad spy agency, the Shin Bet internal security service and the Israel Defense Forces. No timing for their travel was given.
