Donald Trump has long said he would negotiate a quick end to Russia’s war in Ukraine.

On Feb. 12, the US president set the wheels in motion for peace talks in a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, raising suspicions among NATO allies that he’ll force Kyiv to accept Putin’s terms, including a permanent Russian occupation of Ukrainian land.
