A former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. portfolio manager has joined a UK investment firm serving a Saudi Arabian dynasty behind one of the Middle East’s biggest conglomerates.
Jason Smith recently became chief investment officer at the billionaire Juffali family’s Hasma Capital in a London-based role, according to people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified as the details are private. He was a senior portfolio manager at Goldman’s asset-management unit prior to his most recent role as CIO for Tabula Investment Management, a European provider of exchange-traded funds. He left Tabula in August, regulatory filings show.
