President-elect Donald Trump and House Republicans have struck a deal to avert a US government shutdown and suspend the federal debt limit for two years.

House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries dismissed the plan as “laughable,” adding “extreme MAGA Republicans are driving us to a government shutdown.” House Republicans plan to vote on it Thursday and they’ll likely need Democratic support for it to pass.
