Executives and billionaires across the US were ramping up their personal security even before UnitedHealth Group Inc. executive Brian Thompson was murdered earlier this month.

Fortified Estate, which installs bespoke bulletproof fixtures and panic rooms in the homes of the ultra-rich, had one of its busiest months on record in October ahead of the presidential election, said founder Jon Harris.
